On Earth Day, the IDG St. Gallen Hub hosted an interdisciplinary meetup called "Innovating for a Thriving Future" at the Law and Economics Foundation St. Gallen. The event focused on how businesses can align innovation with Planetary Health, inner development, and long-term resilience, featuring expert talks and creative exercises to explore these themes. Ultimately, the session highlighted the crucial role of inner development and interdisciplinary collaboration in fostering more sustainable and resilient business practices for a flourishing future.
On Earth Day (April 22), the IDG St. Gallen Hub brought together a diverse group of participants for an inspiring and interdisciplinary meetup hosted at the Law and Economics Foundation St. Gallen. The event, titled “Innovating for a Thriving Future,” explored how businesses can respond to the urgent call for sustainability by aligning innovation with the principles of Planetary Health, inner development, and long-term resilience.
The session opened with a warm welcome from Suzanne Dvořák and a grounding breathing exercise led by Vinay Shekhar from SKY Campus Zurich. Participants were then invited by Dr. Monica Barroso to reflect through a creative exercise imagining a dialogue between a person, a business, and planet Earth—each expressing their current concerns and aspirations in the face of global challenges.
Expert contributions from Prof. Susanne Fischer (School of Medicine-HSG), Samuel Häckel (Konstanz Solutions), and Suzanne Dvořák (Law and Economics Foundation St. Gallen) shed light on the role of future skills, sustainable business model innovation, and Planetary Health as key levers for transformation.
This powerful exchange of ideas emphasized the importance of inner development as a foundation for outer change and highlighted the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration to shape more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable business practices.
