Intro

The special issue on digital business models and sustainability in Technological Forecasting & Social Change is now complete. The newly published editorial, co-authored by SIL's Prof. Maximilian Palmié, introduces a typology of eight industry archetypes for digitally enabled, sustainable business model innovation.

We are pleased to announce the completion of the special issue on digital business models and their implications for sustainability in Technological Forecasting & Social Change (TFSC). The special issue was guest-edited by Pejvak Oghazi, SIL’s Maximilian Palmié, Rana Mostaghel, and Lucas Miehé. TFSC just published their editorial, “Digital business models and their implications for sustainability: A typology, industry examples, and paths for future research.”

In addition to presenting the articles included in the special issue, the editorial develops a typology of sustainability-advancing, digitally enabled business model innovation and illustrates eight archetypes with examples from industry.
